F&S club was started by the director of Yad Dovid, Aaron Zahler.
Growing up I was the youngest of 5 boys in an era where computers and video games were not as popular. Summer days and nights were spent on the
street with friends, family and neighbours playing ball and having a good time. During these summer nights my best friend
Yaakov (Sendy) would always make his way to our block for a nightly game with my brother and I.
I was fortunate enough to have him and my brother David (Fifi) in my life not only playing ball at night but also
throughout the year as a big brother and mentor who were both built in best friends who instilled support and confidence in me.
They represent compassion, love, support. And always made everything fun and exciting.
They both had an illness - 1 battled cancer the other battled a mental health illness, and unfortunately both have passed away after a long battle.
Since then, it has always been a dream of mine to start something in their name and memory.
I felt a club was where I could bring back what they had given me and what they stood for; a place where you can feel a part of and supported while doing something so simple as playing sports and having fun with friends.
Our amazing staff all have the same vision, and goal - to give every kid a good time and all the love and support they
need to feel connected. And with this we hope to make a difference in their lives and mental health now and in the future.
